Black History Parade

and Expo 


The Adrian Dell and Carmen Roberts Foundation consists of dedicated volunteers, focused on the development of events, and activities that promote positive family and cultural interaction in a cross-section of the community and the City of Riverside as a whole. The committee has successfully organized and coordinated one of the longest-running Black History Month Parades in California.

Russell Ward, Co-Chairperson

Russell Ward has been a member of the Adrian Dell Carmen Roberts foundation formerly known as the black history month committee of riverside since 1979.  Mr. Ward is the Co-Chair of the Parade and Expo committee and the chairperson for the Annual Backpack Giveaway. He is currently in his 32nd year of employment with Konica Minolta Business Solutions where he serves as a Software Solution Specialist.  In his spare time consists of bowling, hiking, cooking, and skating.

John Jefferson, Co-Chairperson

John Jefferson is a local business owner and a proud Inland Empire native. Mr. Jefferson has served in the Riverside community for over 25 years as a barber, manufacturer, and retailer of many popular men’s grooming products. He also has a passion for contributing to the community that he serves through volunteering with ADCR Foundation as  Co-Chair of the Parade and Expo committee

 

Empowering Young

Women Conference 


 

In 2001 Adrian “Dell” Roberts established the Empowering Young Women’s Conference with the intention to educate young women, discover their interests, find their strengths, and develop purpose. The conference annually serves approximately 300 girls ages 12-21 and hosts helpful workshop topics such as preparing for college, developing self-esteem, pursuing dreams, recognizing abuse & handling peer conflict.

 

Backpack Giveaway


 

The ADCR Foundation hosts an Annual Free Backpack Giveaway to distributes free backpacks and other educational resources to school-aged children ages K - 12 in the community for the upcoming school year. Rus Ward is the chairperson that continues to support this event.

Jazz on the Rooftop


 

The Jazz on the Rooftop event was created in 2018 , it is an Annual Fundraiser for the Adrian Dell & Carmen Roberts Foundation that continues to grow each year with the support of resolute volunteers and generous sponsors.

The proceeds from this event help benefit the community initiatives below:

Renee Manier, Co-Chairperson

Renee Manier joined the Adrian Dell & Carmen Roberts Foundation in 2018. As an alumnus of the University of Redlands, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and currently serves as the chairperson for The Jazz On The Rooftop. For the past 15 years to present she has worked in the mutual fund industry. Aside from her volunteerism, she also enjoys reading, ballet, and is a HUGE fan of jazz concerts.

Jazz On The Roof Top

The Adrian Dell and Carmen Roberts Foundation is excited to host our 3rd Annual Fundraising Event. The event will take place on October 16, 2021, on the beautiful Rooftop of Riverside City Hall. This year’s theme is “A Caribbean Escape”. Our goal is to raise $20,000.

All proceeds will benefit:

•Riverside Black History Parade and Expo

•Empowering Young Women’s Annual Conference

•Backpack Giveaway
